"Strategy Card Game" Faeria Goes Free-To-Play

Abrakam announced yesterday that its Early Access "Strategy Card Game" title, Faeria, has gone free-to-play. Faeria is comparable to games like Scrolls or Duelyst in that it is a card game in which cards played are represented as pieces on a board. What sets it apart is its "Living Board" feature; the board is shaped by players as they play.

An update that introduced the final art for many cards, changed the appearance of Mythic cards, and overhauled solo content was released alongside the move to free-to-play. The new solo experience allows new or casual players to challenge characters from the game's universe, with wins granting various rewards, including new cards.

Matt's Take:

Faeria looks quite interesting and I rather like the art style, but I know that I personally wasn't quite willing to take the leap and purchase the game during its time as a paid Early Access title. The Living Board is intriguing, but it is definitely something I would rather try out first. I wouldn't have expected the title to go free-to-play during its time in Early Access, but I am looking forward to playing it now that it has.
