State Of Decay 3 Is Being Developed In Partnership With Gears Of War Studio

Undead Labs has partnered with Gears of War studio The Coalition to develop State of Decay 3, the next game in the open-world zombie survival franchise. The news was shared by Xbox Game Studios head Matt Bootty during a recent podcast as reported by WCCFtech.
“You mentioned Undead Labs, they’re working with The Coalition up in Vancouver, our Gears of War studio, using some of the technology around Unreal Engine 5 and some of the stuff that’s been in Gears of War before to bring that into State of Decay 3,” said Booty.
He also assured State of Decay 2 players that Undead Labs is still committed to developing the game and growing its user base as they work with The Coalition on the new State of Decay game. State of Decay 2 currently boasts 11 million lifetime players according to the Xbox executive.
“All of that, the things they are doing there, are really the testbed, the proving grounds, for all the stuff that’s going in State of Decay 3,” Booty said.
State of Decay 3 was first announced via a teaser trailer at last year’s Xbox Game Showcase and will presumably still be a multiplayer game. No release date has been given as of yet.
