Startup Studio Dazzle Rocks Raises Nearly $7M To Fund New Mobile Social Sandbox MMO

Finnish startup studio Dazzle Rocks has raised nearly $7 million in funding from investors that will go into developing a new unnamed mobile social sandbox MMO. Based on what we could get from the upcoming game’s official site, the unnamed project will feature voxel-style cartoony graphics with building, crafting, gathering, and farming mechanics.

“We are making a new kind of sandbox MMO experience for mobile. It’s a social world-building game about exploration, adventure, and collaborating with other players. It’s a real-time game with endless outcomes and the winning strategy is to be yourself. Play, create, and try out the customization options and make our world. The vast environment and its rich and varied landscapes will provide a deep gameplay variety. Our mission is to make games that stay fresh for years with a constant evolution.”

The release date is also still unknown, but it might be sooner than we’d expect. “We are in the final stage of releasing an open beta for Western markets and will later follow with key Asian markets, including China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan,” says studio co-founder Joonas Jokela in a recent press release. “Our custom social MMO engine foundation is now complete and enables massive global scalability and the development of our pipeline of future social MMO games.”
