Starship Troopers fans will soon be able to face off against giant alien bugs in Offworld Industries’ upcoming squad-based co-op first-person shooter Starship Troopers: Extermination. The game will allow up to 12 players to group up and work together to take on alien insects on the planet Valaka as members of the elite special forces group called the Deep Space Vanguards.

“Starship Troopers: Extermination is a co-op FPS that puts you on the far-off front lines of an all-out battle against the Bugs! Squad up, grab your rifle, and do your part as an elite Deep Space Vanguard Trooper set to take back planets claimed by the Arachnid threat!”

Players will be able to drop onto the planet as one of three distinct classes – Assault, Support, and Defense – and will need to work together to complete various objectives, gather resources, build a base, shore up their defenses, and eventually escape to the extraction point as a team, all while fighting back the massive bugs. As they complete missions, they’ll also be able to unlock new weapons, gear, and perks for each of the available classes.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is expected to launch into early access on Steam sometime in 2023 and transition to full release the following year. Along the way, the developers plans to introduce more worlds, bug types, weapons, progression system improvements, and in-game events.
