Star Trek Online has a new executive producer as the previous owner of the title, Andre Emerson, has apparently been promoted to VP of Development last fall. Replacing him is Jarrod Fisher a Cryptic Studios veteran of 14 years who started out as a QA tester for Champions Online before moving to Star Trek Online and into production nearly 10 years ago.

Cryptic Studio announced the changeover in a developer stream and a tweet earlier this week. During the stream, Fisher talked about his goals as the new STO head honcho which mainly revolves around launch and development consistency while avoiding crunch culture.

The new executive producer also touched on several other topics including the next major update, the continuation of multi-season story arcs, and the potential return of Klingon War missions. He also laid to rest rumors of a feud between Cryptic Studios and William Shatner. He didn’t rule out the possibility of Shatner reprising his role as the iconic Capt. James T. Kirk, although it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Cryptic is celebrating the Refraction update’s launch on PC this past Tuesday by adding a new hairstyle for female toons reminiscent of Dr. Crushers long curls. You can check out a preview of the new hairdo here.
