Star Citizen Closes Forums To Non Backers

Upcoming Sci-Fi Persistent World MMORPG, Star Citizen, has closed the doors to their forums for public use. Only users who have "BACKER" or "READY" status on their accounts will be able to post on the forums, Community Hub, and Issue Council.

The official post is by Community Manager, Jared Huckaby, and was made due to the amount of negativity and harassment-only accounts. As part of their reason they have cited that "Most projects don't have a fully functional community during the development phase". We can only speculate that this was due to the heavy accusations brought upon them due to several allegations and a class action lawsuit.  Of course Derek Smart believes it:
