Square Enix Announces Mobile Battle Royale Game ‘Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier’
Square Enix is jumping into the battle royale bandwagon with Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a new mobile game coming to Androi and iOS devices later this year.
In The First Soldier, players will go head to head as members of SOLDIER, Shinra’s elite group of enhanced fighters, across a variety of urban environments inspired by locations in Final Fantasy VII. Players will have access to an arsenal of guns and melee weapons as well as spells and summons pulled from the original game. They can also take on iconic Final Fantasy VII mobs including the self-destructing Bomb and the massive Scorpion Sentinel.
Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is one of three recently-announced games set in the Final Fantasy VII universe, including Final Fantasy: Ever Crisis, a mobile single-player compilation of the entire FFVII timeline, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, a side-story for the PS4 game made exclusively for the PS5.
Square Enix might be a little too late to the battle royale party but the fact that Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is a Final Fantasy game might just give it the popularity boost it needs to survive in a genre dominated by PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, and Fortnite.
Check out what the upcoming game has to offer in the teaser video after the break. You can also head over to the Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier official site for more info.
