Skydome's Early Access Launch Floundering Peaking at 26 Players Online

Skydome, a unique mix between tower defense and MOBA, launched into early access on August 18th on Steam and is off to a weak start. While Gamigo, the game's publisher, likely hasn't spent too much marketing the game yet, the early access playerbase numbers on Steam aren't good. Skydome peaked at just 26 concurrent players today, down from 73 when the game first launched on the 18th.

A small playerbase isn't usually a big problem for MMORPGs, as they can largely be played solo, but a game like Skydome requires 8 players for a single match and ideally thousands of players to create fair matches quickly. As-is, players will likely be waiting in queue to play for long periods of time and matches will never be fair.

Skydome is developed by the Brazilian indie game company Kinship Game Studio and published by Gamigo.
