It’s been a few weeks since Palia kicked off its first Alpha test, and while the test is still covered by an NDA, developer Singularity 6 is more than happy to share some news as the playtest comes to a close. According to the team, testers were able to push the game’s systems to its limits and have both surprised and impressed them with their discoveries.

“This playtest was all about unleashing players to gain valuable insight into our new features, systems, and tech as we grow both the world of Palia and our team,” said the devs. “In just a few short weeks, our players not only skyrocketed our game development forward with thoughtful feedback and crucial bug reports, they also captured the joy and magic of Palia in brand new ways.”

Over the past few weeks, testers have been busy building, fishing, hunting, foraging, bug catching, and building some more. The team showed off screenshots of houses and interiors that players were able to build using the game’s robust housing system.

“Home is where Palia’s heart is, and we were stunned by what our playtesters accomplished in the limited time they had!” revealed the team. “They created homes that we didn’t even imagine could be done.”

The team also challenged testers to break the game in various ways including gathering in hordes and attacking the ground with various tools and baking as many pies as possible before the game crashed. (The magic number was 1,023 pies just in case you’re curious.) Testers have also helped identify hundreds of bugs and are now working to address player feedback.
