Tlön Industries’ Per Aspera is now officially a multiplayer game as the studio rolls out co-op mode for the sci-fi city builder. The new multiplayer mode allows up to four players to land separately on Mars and start colonizing the big red planet. Resources and research, however, is shared between all players, encouraging players to work as a team in order to grow their respective colonies.

“The Multiplayer Mode is meant to work as a cooperative experience. Rally your friends and get your hands dirty while building the new landscape. Perform scientific research to enable plant and animal life in an otherwise inhospitable world. Show kindness and cooperation by sharing resources and impactful experiences.”

The new multiplayer mode plays just like the game’s sandbox mode which means that there won’t be any PvP and players won’t have access to military buildings. (Personally, multiplayer PvP would be a great addition but that’s just me.) Players will also be able to save their progress and resume the multiplayer session whenever they feel like it. The only drawback is that mods won’t work in multiplayer.

Per Aspera is a sci-fi city building and management game developed by Argentinian indie studio Tlön Industries and published by Swedish video game publisher Raw Fury. The game drops players onto Mars where they can terraform the planet and start their own budding settlements. The game officially launched on Steam in December 2020 and is available on the platform for $29.99.

“Make Mars your own! Take control of the world’s most sophisticated AI (AMI) and terraform the surface of the Red Planet for a city-building experience on a planetary scale. Transform this barren world into a lush paradise and explore the surface for any ancient secrets that may be waiting.”
