RIFT Gets First New Calling Since Launch, More

Announced today at gamescom, RIFT's upcoming 3.4 update is going to contain a lot more than just a new calling. There will be a new expedition zone, raid, dungeon, and more. The new calling is more interesting, though, seeing as it's the first new calling added to RIFT since launch.

This new calling, dubbed "The Primalist," will contain six souls, each in wildly varying archetypes. These souls are the Vulcanist, a fire and earth-wielding ranged DPS soul, the Berserker, a melee AoE DPS soul, the Typhoon, a water and air-wielding ranged AoE DPS soul, the Titan, a tank soul that can literally form a wall between enemies and themselves, the Dervish, a sustained melee DPS soul, and the Preserver, "a healer [soul] that uses blossoms and seeds to heal up their allies." A core component of each of them will be the "Focus Bar," which shifts around and affects the power of your spells if you use them, as well as an animal spirit manifesting during use of more powerful abilities.
