In a cooperative-tactical move I never would have guessed, Gamblit Gaming and Playboy have joined forces to bring real money betting to the competitive mobile game market. Playboy and Gamblit Gaming will develop competitive games together that incorporates betting into their gameplay, to be released some time in 2016. Since the games require skill and not luck, the gambling den won't fall under regulatory edicts.

California-based Gamblit Gaming is known for making games that incorporate gambling, such as Dreadnought for iOS. But none of their titles have brought the studio much success, a seemingly odd choice for a company with a reported annual revenue of $135 million. Although Playboy's earnings did drop dramatically from 2009, a reported $240 million. Perhaps entering into a partnership is a means for Playboy to expand their horizons and capitalize on competitive mobile gaming while the industry is still blooming—an estimated $30 billion within a few years. And Gamblit Gaming is one of the few companies that builds games with gambling in mind.

The games will be developed for the United Kingdom as well as land-based casinos in the Unites States, such as Las Vegas.
