Quake Champions Closed Beta Sign-Ups Open

Bethesda Softworks' announced today that Closed Beta sign ups have opened for its "highly anticipated" AAA resurrection of the arena shooter genre, Quake Champions. The game is said to be bringing back the classic Quake formula with the new twist that there are "Champions," which essentially equate to classes. Quake Champions will be a free to play game with an option to unlock all classes for a one time purchase.

According to Bethesda, the Closed Beta "is expected to begin in the coming weeks." In the time leading up to the beginning of Closed Beta, players will be able to check the new official website for information about the game's Arenas, Champions, and weapons. Tomorrow, the team will begin releasing "Champion profiles," starting with "a new trailer focused on Nyx." The team will then release the first Arena showcase, this week's will be for the "Blood Covenant" Arena, on Thursday.
