Kakao Games Sinks Money Into A New Blockchain Mobile MMO By RedLab Games

South Korean video game publisher Kakao Games has partnered with another development studio from its home country as part of its efforts to secure their footing in the ever-growing blockchain games industry. The publisher has invested an undisclosed amount in RedLab Games and their upcoming play-to-earn MMORPG, codenamed Project R, which is planned for release on mobile devices.
According to MMOCulture, Project R is being developed using the Unity engine and will be running on the Bora Portal blockchain platform which Kakao has also invested in. It’s the same platform used by XLGames’ ArcheWorld blockchain MMO that’s set to arrive later this year.
RedLab Games is made up of industry veterans and was founded last year by a former executive at Neowiz, Smilegate, and Blue Potion Games.
