Project Pantheon Closed Alpha 3 Dated for July With Major New Features and Crafting Overhaul

Wolcen Studio has announced that Project Pantheon, its upcoming extraction RPG, will hold its third Closed Alpha test (CA3) from July 25th to July 27th, 2025. This new phase brings a range of significant gameplay updates, including a full crafting system, expanded questlines, new enemies, and improvements to the player sanctuary.
Project Pantheon is a free-to-play, live-service title that blends PvPvE gameplay with extraction-based mechanics. Set in a unique afterlife world, players take on the role of agents for Death, fighting through dangerous maps to secure loot and upgrade their own fortresses. The game emphasizes risk-versus-reward by making all loot and gear potentially losable on failed runs. Unfortunately neither of the 2 official trailers show any gameplay yet, which is surprising since there's a playable closed alpha right around the corner. The Steam page does show in-game screenshots though.
For Closed Alpha 3, players can expect several notable changes and additions:
- Ratatoskr Questline: A new story arc, Whispers of War, introduces players to a faction conflict and expands the game’s narrative content.
- New Enemy Types: The Hamforir faction gets fresh adversaries, including the close-range spellcaster Hulk, the agile Werewolf, and packs of Wolves that become dangerous in numbers.
- Sanctuary Upgrades & Crafting: The player’s home base now supports building construction and a detailed crafting system. Crafting recipes can be found or earned, and must be successfully extracted to use in your sanctuary.
- Crafting Island Expansion: New facilities like the Armory (for armor), Smithy (for weapons), and Arcane Atelier (for sigils and potions) deepen the crafting experience.
- Ultimate Powers & Gauge System: Ultimate abilities now require players to fill a gauge through in-game actions, replacing traditional cooldowns to encourage more strategic use.
- Increased Dungeon Variety: The number of available dungeons has been raised to 11, offering a range of sizes and escalating challenges. Dungeons remain locked at the start of a session and require key discovery to access.
- New Extraction Methods: Two new Obelisk types are being added, providing alternative extraction mechanics that don’t always involve fighting waves of enemies.
