Project Gorgon Slashes 75% Off Its Price Tag And Teases New Features And Content
Sandra Powers, the other half of the husband-and-wife team that founded Project Gorgon, recently penned a dev blog announcing that they’ve slashed 75% off the game’s price tag for a limited time. According to Powers, the additional funds that will raised during the sale will be used to pay someone to replace her while she battles liposarcoma.
“So we’re down a dev and it’s slowing everything down,” she wrote. “To be blunt, more people means more money means we can pay another developer to pick up the slack for me. Our last sale went really well and allowed us to work with the indomitable Nick — the engineer responsible for most of the last year-plus of QoL (Quality of Life) improvements. Imagine what we can do with another Nick!”
The medieval fantasy will be available on Steam for just $10 until July 27th.
Powers also touched on their current development priorities, specifically their efforts to make skills as balanced and as fun as they can. She also talked about ongoing work on the city of Statehelm, quality-of-life improvements, controllers support, orcs, and problematic gameplay elements such as inventory management and transmutation.
“As balance comes together, we’ll be able to launch the next phase of content: the city of Statehelm, jewel of Alharth and capital of the Council Lands!” Powers teased. “More importantly, Statehelm is the home of the level 90 trainers. Along with Statehelm will come Vidaria, an outdoor hunting zone filled with content for level 90-100 plus several new high-level dungeons.”
Several new zones will follow the release of Statehelm, each with their own set of dungeons. She also revealed plans to roll out orcs sometime between the opening of the city and the aforementioned zones. She confirmed that orcs will have their own separate newbie zones and mechanics, similar to those of fairies.
Other features coming in the near future include mid-range radar, player and guild housing, more guild quests, additional animal husbandry species, genetics, and new high-level crafting skills. More information can be found on the Project Gorgon official site.
