Pokemon Unite MOBA Officially Launches On Nintendo Switch

It took a while for The Pokemon Company to finally get on the MOBA train, but Pokemon Unite has officially launched on Nintendo Switch. Players on Nintendo’s handheld console can now choose their favorite Pokemon and take on other players in 5v5 team battles that feature a more child-friendly twist to the age-old tower-destroying MOBA formula.
“In Pokémon UNITE, players face off against each other in 5-on-5 team battles. During these battles, players will cooperate with teammates to defeat wild Pokémon and level up to evolve their own Pokémon. They will need to defeat their opponents’ Pokémon while trying to earn more points than the opposing team within the allotted time.”
The game comes with a free seasonal battle pass that will reward players for completing daily and weekly tasks throughout the duration of the season. Players with some extra cash to burn can also purchase a premium battle pass to earn exclusive rewards, including the Pikachu Holowear Hip-Hop Style and the Cinderace Captain Style.
Pokemon Unite will be coming to Android and iOS devices in September with full cross-play support with the Nintendo Switch. Check out the official launch trailer below.
