Pokemon GO To Add More Than 80 New Johto Pokemon Later This Week

The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived. No longer are we stuck with two or three Pokemon being added to Pokemon GO at once. No, later this week, those of us that are still playing Pokemon GO will get ourfirst chance to catch any of more than 80 new Johto Pokemon.
Fan favorites from Pokemon Gold and Silver including Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. New Johto evolutions of classic Pokemon will be introduced and some of the more than 80 new Pokemon will even have "gender-specific variations."
Several other improvements will also go live in the update that adds the new Pokemon. During encounters, Pokemon will react in "new ways" during your attempts to catch them. Various Berries and Poke Ball will be able to be selected "directly from the encounter screen." There will be two new types of Berries—Nanab, which makes Pokemon move slower, and Pinap, which "doubles the amount of Candy you'll receive if your next catch attempt succeeds." Additionally, there will be new avatar customization options.
You can get a preview of the new update in the video embedded below.
