Pokemon GO: Gym Training Enhanced, Third Party Apps Blocked Again
Having a hard time training your Pokemon at your local gym? Well, 6vs1 isn't exactly favorable odds for even the strongest Pokemon. Worry no more, dear trainers! The latest update to Pokemon GO will now allow players to battle with six Pokemon in friendly gym battles instead of just one. The defending Pokemon’s CP will also automatically scale to your Pokemons' strength. Here’s the official announcement:
“As we continue to make improvements to Pokémon GO, we have made an enhancement to the Gym experience for Trainers of all levels. In an upcoming version of Pokémon GO, when training at a friendly Gym, Trainers will be able to bring six Pokémon to battle instead of one. In addition, the CP of the Pokémon you are training against may be temporarily adjusted lower during your training session to generally match your Pokémon’s battle capabilities.
No matter what your level, you can now have an impact on your team’s Gym. Walk with your Buddy Pokémon to that nearby landmark and show your Team Leader that you can battle with the best!”

In addition, Niantic released a security update last Friday that seemingly disabled the .35 API which caused the shutdown of a number of unofficial third-party Pokemon GO apps and websites. This is presumably part of the developer’s efforts to finally get rid of cheaters. Although, with the in-game tracker broken for months down, Niantic’s “security” updates have only earned them the ire of the playerbase, especially when third-party apps were the only effective way of tracking Pokemon aside from just relying on pure luck.
In other Pokemon news, Pokemon Sun and Moon for the Nintendo 3DS is set for release this November. Check out the Legendaries trailer below or trudge on over to the official Pokemon GO website and Reddit for more details.
