Perpetuum's Alpha 2 Islands Receive Rework
Going buy-to-play hasn't stopped progress on Perpetuum's development. The EvE-like, mech-based MMORPG is still receiving updates fairly regularly. Following a major update that introduced a mission system to the game, each of the game's islands is receiving a rework, including changes to the highway/teleport network, new field terminals, and random mission assignments. The Alpha 2 islands are the latest to get this treatment, with the Beta 1 and Beta 2 island next up in the pipeline. The team does make sure to note that, due to the effects these changes may have on PvP and outpost warfare, this update may take a little longer as they plan it out before the rework occurs.

Along with the changes to the teleport network, the team is planning to remove spark teleports, as they were originally only added to help with long walk times. This form of teleportation previously allowed agents to quickly travel from terminal to terminal, but only sparks can be teleported, not equipment. They refer to it as a "band-aid," with the highway/teleport network rework being the intended solution to the original problem.
The team behind Perpetuum have also included some heat maps that show off player activity since the addition of the mission system. According to them, the activity shows that the mission system is working as intended

The full update can be found on the official site.
