Overwatch Is Launching On May 24th

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that their class-based team shooter Overwatch will be launching on May 24th. An Open Beta test will be held from May 5th to May 9th. All pre-orders placed before April 29th will get early access to the Open Beta on May 3rd. If you pre-order through Blizzard, you will get an Open Beta early access key for a friend.

The Open Beta will feature all characters and all maps. Progress will not be transferred into launch. Xbox Live Gold will be required for Xbox One players. PlayStation Plus will not be required for PlayStation 4 players during Open Beta, but it will be required at launch. Cross-platform play will not be available at any point. The ongoing Closed Beta will end before the May 3rd Open Beta launch, but the exact date has yet to be decided upon.
