Overwatch Hosting Free Weekend September 9-12, For Consoles

Overwatch will be free the weekend of September 9th-12th for Playstation 4 and Xbox One players. Every hero and map will be available to play, along with the Weekly Brawl (sadly not Lúcio Ball). Blizzard laid out some details in a blog post:

You'll also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock different customization options via the Hero Gallery. If you like what you see and decide to buy Overwatch: Origins Edition, you'll also get to keep whatever progress you made during the weekend. (Wicked!)

Xbox One owners will need to have an Xbox Live Gold membership; Playstation Plus will not be required to participate. And progress from the free weekend will carry over if you decide to purchase Overwatch: Origins Edition.

No word on a free weekend for PC. Maybe the PC population trumps the console pop?
