Overwatch 2 players have pointed out a slight change in the hero shooter’s user interface that could result in confusion over what currency you’re using. For context, the game uses several different currencies, with Legacy Credits and Overwatch Coins being the main focus of this article.

Legacy Credits are currency carried over from the original game and can be used to purchase a limited selection of items while Overwatch Coins are purchased using real world money and can be used to purchase a wider selection of items. While the icons for both currencies look similar, they’re usually colored white for Legacy Credit and yellow for Overwatch Coin.

The latest battle pass, however, grants some Legacy Credit which for some reason has a yellow icon and could easily confuse players. The Legacy Credit icon is still slightly different from the Overwatch Coin icon but it’s easy to miss if you’re not paying close attention.

While the poor design choice probably wasn’t intentional, it’s got the game’s community grumbling about Blizzard’s controversial monetization tactics. Blizzard has yet to comment on the matter and it looks like they won’t be changing the icon soon so it’s probably best to double check the actual currency you’re using before buying anything.
