Ovar.io Is A Massively Multiplayer Competitive Reproduction Simulator

Well, this was probably inevitable. Miniclip—you remember Miniclip, right?—announced today that it has released a new .io game called Ovar.io. If you're thinking that that sounds like it has something to do with reproductive organs, then you're correct. In Ovar.io, you race to become the first sperm cell to reach as many "Ovarios" as possible before death. Once you've reached an Ovario, it will turn in to a turret that will shoot at other sperm. No, I'm not kidding.

Miniclip Executive Producer Jamie Cason had the following to say about the announcement.

Ovar.io represents everything that’s great about the .io genre. It is cheeky, irreverent, easy to play, but tricky to dominate. We’re actively looking to move things on with '2.io' games like Ovar.io, where professional studios like OKAM get to bring all their experience making characterful, beautifully animated and nicely-crafted titles to an area which has hitherto been the reserve of brilliant new talent like Agario’s Matheus Valadares who are making very punky, home-made-feeling products. If Agar.io was the Sex Pistols, then our 2.io games are Blondie! We think there is a market for web-based super-fun, casual, multiplayer games like Ovar.io that look and feel as gorgeous as a mobile or console game.

If you want to check out the odd new .io game, you can head over to the official website and play it now.
