Survival MMO Fractured Veil has surpassed its $100,000 funding goal on Kickstarter with 13 days left in the campaign. The game is being developed by California-based indie developer Paddle Creek Games and will ship out with features that you’d expect to find in a typical post-apocalyptic MMO, including open-world exploration, base-building, crafting, survival mechanics, and a good mix of PvE and PvP encounters.

“Join up to 500 concurrent survivors on the once-beautiful landscapes of Maui, Hawaii, now riddled with horrifying mutants, ravenous animals, and other humans vying to stay alive. Travel alone or make alliances before heading deep into the heart of Maui. Build and fortify a base to keep out unwanted visitors. Gather resources to craft upgrades, themed weapons like spearguns, and prepare for an exciting mix of PvP and PvE content.”

The game will also feature RPG-like skill progression and a robust quest system with NPC outposts and points of interests where players can pick up missions to earn experience and advance the storyline. Also, unlike most post-apocalyptic survival games, most of the map will be made up of PvE-only zones that will either be moved, removed, or adjusted to find the right balance between PvE and PvP.

“Our views on PvX are not written in stone and we plan on iterating towards success with the community on the development servers before we remove those PVE Zones,” said Paddle Creek.

Fractured Veil is expected to launch in Q2 2022 with multi-server support that should be able to handle hundreds of players at the same time. Cross-server travel and player settlements have also been confirmed by the devs.
