One Speed-Hacking Players Is Making Life Hard For Albion Online Players

Albion Online has always been proud of its PvP system which has constantly been tweaked and improved to offer the best possible experience. Unfortunately, all it takes is one hacker to ruin the experience for everybody. One player in particular has been wreaking havoc with a speed-hack that allows him to rapidly blink and evade attackers or keep up with a fleeing player even while the latter is mounted.

While there have been other instances of speed-hacking involving other players, the developers confirmed that most of the reports pointed to one very persistent and admittedly skilled player. “A lot of the current reports are triggered by one very dedicated and technically skilled cheater who keeps creating new accounts when he gets banned,” wrote Sandbox Interactive on Reddit.

The good news is that the developers are currently working to counter the hack and improve their anti-cheat measures and will be permanently banning hackers on the first offense.

“When we saw an increased volume of hack reports appearing around two weeks ago, we immediately started working on improving our technical countermeasures,” said the devs. “These are currently in internal testing and will be released to the live sever asap – we need to properly test them to make sure that they work as intended and do not accidentally ban players who don’t cheat.”
