Jagex Unveils Its Summer Roadmap For Old School RuneScape Featuring Desert Treasure II

Jagex dropped a parade of Old School RuneScape announcements over the weekend including a content roadmap for this summer, starting with the arrival of the next Desert Treasure quest.
Desert Treasure II will become available on July 26th and is being touted as the classic MMORPG’s biggest quest to date. It will feature four new boss fights that players will be able to repeatedly take on after they’ve completed the questline. However, the Ruinous Powers prayer book which was initially planned to be added alongside the new quest has been put on the backburner for the time being.
Following Desert Treasure II’s release, players can look forward to the Summer Summit 2023 livestream on August 19th, where the team will be sharing their content plans for the 20-year-old MMORPG for the rest of 2023 and beyond.
Finally, late summer promises a new Deadman game mode called Deadman: Apocalypse. This mode introduces breaches across the map that spawn bosses for players to battle. As the mode progresses, portals break open worldwide, flooding the map with monsters and isolating players in one area until only one victor remains.
The accompanying dev blog provides more information on what’s coming this summer, including returning mechanics like sigils, new blighted weapons to help new players catch up, and the introduction of a points-based rewards system for the new Deadman mode that will focus more on survival rather than competition.
