Old School RuneScape’s Secrets Of The North Update Is Live With A New Master Quest

Old School RuneScape continues its ongoing Mahjarrat storyline with the release of its Secrets of the North update. The update introduces a new master level quest that will task players with investigating a mysterious murder in the Carnillean household.
“Be prepared to form an uneasy alliance, dig up secrets best left buried deep, and walk away with more questions than answers...,” teased Jagex.
Completing the quest will reward players with a ton of Agility, Thieving, and Hunter XP, 2 quest points, and access to a solo-only, repeatable boss that has a chance to drop the new Venator Bow and the Ancient Icon artifact that can be combined with the Ancient Staff to obtain the Ancient Sceptre, an untradeable weapon that should ease the transition from the Ancient Staff to the Kodai Wand.
The boss also drops Ancient Essences that can be used to charge the Venator Bow to make its arrows bounce between NPCs and to craft the buff-granting Saturated Heart and Forgotten Brew.
The new master level quest also serves as a prequel to the Desert Treasure II – The Fallen Empire grandmaster quest that’s coming later this year. It sounds like a title for a bad Indiana Jones wanna-be movie on Cinemax but we’ll take it. You can check out the full patch notes on the Old School RuneScape official site.
