Old School RuneScape Replaces Duel Arena With A New Anti-RMT And Anti-Scamming Version
In October 2021, Jagex announced that they would be making changes to Old School RuneScape’s PvP Arena to crack down on real-money trading and scamming within the instance. As a temporary fix, the team placed a 10 million limit on GP stakes and added two new duel option presets based on commonly used duel settings.
As of today, a revamped version of the Duel Arena, now known as the PvP Arena, is now available featuring 1v1 duels and 1v1 tournaments with options for both ranked and unranked play. The duels will take place on a separate game world between players of similar skill levels which will be determined using Rank Points. Stats will be normalized upon entering the Arena, although players will still be able to customize their builds by choosing from one of three primary and secondary combat styles.

Players who participate in Ranked Matches will be awarded Reward Points that they can exchange for various in-game, including non-cosmetic PvP gear which can only be used against other players in certain PvP-enabled areas. Note that you won’t be able to attack anything except other players when non-cosmetic PvP gear is equipped. They are also untradeable to ensure that only battle-hardened PvP players gain access to them.
Reward Points can also be exchanged for ornament kits, imbue scrolls, and the new blighted scrolls. You can find out more about the new Duel Arena on the Old School RuneScape official site.
