Old School RuneScape Arrives On Steam In Time For 8th Anniversary Celebrations
Old School RuneScape has officially launched on Steam alongside the classic MMORPG’s 8th anniversary celebrations. The Steam version comes with a complete set of Steam achievements, emoticons, badges and trading cards depicting iconic characters and items from the game, along with launch-exclusive content.
Steam users will be able to link their RuneScape accounts to continue playing and save their progress across Steam and PC/Mac clients as well as on Android and iOS mobile devices. The game also offers cross-platform support which allows players on the PC/Mac and mobile versions of the game to play together.
“Old School has something for everyone, and this past year we’ve seen it hit new heights,” said Executive Producer Rob Hendry. “It’s seen the largest number of concurrent players, most members ever, and millions of active players across both the members edition and those who enjoy the game for free on both desktop and mobile.”
“Old School is ever-growing and thanks to a vibrant and empowered community behind it, adventure is now calling for Steam users and I know that our existing players are ready to welcome the new arrivals,” he said.
Existing Old School RuneScape players are literally welcoming new Steam players to the game and have gathered at the starting zone for a meet-and-greet and a community playthrough of the 8th anniversary event.
