No Man’s Sky Rolls Out Companion And Memory Leak Fixes In The Latest Experimental Branch Update
If there’s one thing that the No Man’s Sky community loves about the game’s developer, it’s their dedication to constantly improve the sci-fi survival MMO. It’s even earned them a “Thank You” billboard outside their office in the UK.
Last week, Hello Games rolled out the Companions Update which allows players to tame and adopt any of the alien creatures inhabiting the game world that you can then train to do chores or use as a mount. These alien pets were also supposed to defend players from other creatures, which unfortunately, wasn’t working as it should.
Don’t worry, the devs are on the case and have just rolled out several fixes on the game’s experimental branch, including one that fixes the above-mentioned pet issue and companion-related crashes. The latest experimental branch update also fixes a memory leak on PC versions when alt-tabbing or changing screen resolutions, rendering issues, and an issue that prevented the Livestock Unit from harvesting creatures.
The team promises to roll out the update across all platforms as soon as possible. The full patch notes can be found on the No Man’s Sky Steam Community Page.
