No Man’s Sky Players Can Now Be Pirates Or Smugglers As The Outlaws Update Goes Live

Hello Games has rolled out a massive No Man’s Sky update from out of the blue which gives players the option to live the life of a space pirate or smuggler in the popular sci-fi survival MMORPG. Update 3.85, aptly-named Outlaws, debuts the new outlaw system and outlaw stations along with a host of other new features.
“Across the galaxy, star systems have fallen under outlaw control. System authority has been surrendered to rebel forces, leaving space unpoliced and ripe for piracy. As well having no Sentinel interceptors, outlaw systems have their own technology merchants, their own marketplace for contraband items, their own unique mission agents, and much more…”
Players can now purchase illegal goods from Outlaw Stations, smuggle them to regulated systems, and sell them for big profits. Just be on the lookout for the authorities who can now scan the cargo of passing ships for contraband goods with Sentinel interceptors ready to take action. A Cargo Probe Deflector can be installed on smuggling ships to ensure that the authorities can’t find out exactly what’s in the cargo hold. In addition, ships can also now be fitted with high capacity cargo holds to allow them to haul more goods, illegal or not, across the galaxy.
The Outlaws update also introduces new long-range Solar Sail Starships, in-atmosphere dogfights, and the ability to recruit roaming pilots as wingmen. Space combat has also been improved, an auto targeting feature added, fleet size increased to nine starships, and explosions made more dramatic along with other visual improvements.
