No Man’s Sky Launches On Nintendo Switch Alongside Its New Waypoint Update

No Man’s Sky has come a long way since it’s lukewarm launch in 2018. Over the past few years, the sci-fi survival sandbox has been updated with a host of new features and content, including multiplayer and co-op, evolving into a game that the community was so happy with that they even had a billboard made to thank its developers, Hello Games. That same game can now be played by Nintendo Switch players as it launches on the portable gaming platform today alongside the new Waypoint update.
Waypoint is now live on both PC and console versions of the game although the update might take a while longer to arrive on Switch since it’s still being certified by Nintendo. The sizable update introduces another round of new features and quality-of-life upgrades, including custom game modes, the new Milestone system, revamped inventories and UI, improved crafting and missions, personal trading rockets, and a level cap increase.
The highlight of the update is the addition of a Relaxed Mode for more casual players who want the full No Man’s Sky experience with less danger. “The new relaxed preset provides an accessible, laid-back experience of No Man’s Sky. Perfect for players who want to experience all facets of gameplay, from story to survival to combat, with reduced danger and minimal grind,” the developers explained.
The full release notes can be found on the No Man’s Sky website if you want to dive into the details.
