No Man’s Sky Rolls Out Fractal Update With A New Expedition And PSVR2 Support

Hello Games has rolled out a big No Man’s Sky game update called Fractal that comes with a new expedition, a new catalogue page for your discoveries, quality of life improvements, and PlayStation VR 2 support.
One of the highlights of the Fractal Update is the new Utopia Expedition which will send players off to the Bakkin system to help the Utopia Foundation return it to its former glory.
“The once-affluent system of Bakkin has fallen into decay: trade routes halted, the Space Station abandoned and rotting, intelligent lifeforms departed,” the devs explain. “Anomalous solar activity prevents the crafting of items beyond the shelter of a planetary base. Join the communal habitation team, settler, and help make Bakkin beautiful and productive once more!”
In exchange for your help, you’ll be rewarded with a set of new and exclusive cosmetics including the Darth Vader-like Fearsome Visor headpiece, a robotic drone companion, the brand-new Utopia Speeder starship, unique posters, and a holographic friend statue.
The update’s release also coincides with the sci-fi survival game’s launch on the PSVR 2. In line with the launch, Hello Games has overhauled the VR experience with a revamped HUD specifically designed for VR, enhanced interactions, and updated controls for nearly all in-game activities, such as combat and base building. PSVR 2 players will also be able to take advantage of the VR headset’s high resolution display with improved visuals, texture, and lighting.
Hello Games has also given the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation versions some love with the addition of motion-based gyro controls. Switch users also now have access to Nexus missions which will reward them with Quicksilver currency that they can use to purchase a wide range of collectibles from Polo’s Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.
