Nightingale Will Technically Run On Steam Deck But With No Official Support

When Nightingale launches into early access tomorrow, it will be doing so exclusively on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Since the game is available on Steam, Steam Deck owners are naturally curious as to whether they’ll be able to jump into the Fae Realms on the portable console.
The answer is yes and no. The Steam Deck will technically be able to run the game but its yet to be optimized for use with controllers. While you’ll likely be able to traverse the Victorian-era fantasy world without a hitch, some actions that require mouse and keyboard inputs obviously won’t work.
Developer Inflexion Games, however, is already working on an official Steam Deck version. There’s still no timeline for its release, but the studio asks that Steam Deck users report any bugs or issues they encounter to help them with its development. Just be sure to note that you’re playing on Steam Deck.
It’s also worth noting that some crafty Steam Deck users have managed to make some baseline compatible games work on the portable console even without official support. Whether Nightingale players will be as persistent remains to be seen.
The game itself will be launching into early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store tomorrow, February 20th. See you on the other side!
