For the past few months, Inflexion Games has been holding relatively small playtests for Nightingale but they’re now looking to ramp things up and will be expanding testing to include up to 8,000 testers. By increasing the pool of testers, the studio hopes to gather more data on how the game copes with more players online at the same time.

Testers have reportedly offered positive feedback on the game’s visual style and setting, as well as on the various resources and tools that players use to get around during the early stages of the game. The starting area itself has also received positive feedback even as the team works to polish and improve it with the addition of difficulty levels, the ability to choose a starting loadout, and other gameplay customization options.

The developers also recently introduced a third-person mode, a highly requested feature that not only offers a different gameplay perspective but could also potentially function as an added accessibility option. The team notes that first-person mode is the preferred view but players will still be able to get the full experience even in third-person view.
