New World Unleashes An Army Of Rabbits, Announces Server Merges On Friday

Spring has officially come to Aeternum, and with the turning of the season comes an army of invading rabbits. Unfortunately, these rabbits aren’t the cute and cuddly kind and would gladly choose to devour you rather than a stick of carrot without a moment’s hesitation.
“A chill ran down the adventurer’s spine when he saw the two glowing red eyes. Emerging from the brush, a corrupted rabbit moved into the open meadow where the Adventurer stood rooted. Pale moonlight illuminated its warped figure. The spring air in Aeternum was still crisp, and his now rapidly puffing breath left little clouds floating up toward the moon. Despite the slight chill in the air his fingers slipped across the leather binding, sweat loosening his grip on the sword. He gathered his breath and shouted. ‘Go back to your corrupted warren, foul beast!’ Undaunted, the rabbit leapt. Scarlet droplets sprinkled the grass and an eerie silence settled over the glade.”
The Rabbit’s Revenge event is now live and will run until April 25th. During the two-week event, players are asked to help eliminate the plague of corrupted rabbits for a chance to acquire special loot and earn up to three Diamond Gypsum worth of drops and up to five luck-increasing consumables.
“Those luck totems will come in handy, as there’s rumor of a mystical storage chest that could be found in the possession of these rabbits,” says Amazon. “You may even encounter some of the new open world experiences included in the Heart of Madness update in your hunt for this treasure as you explore the wilds of Aeternum.”

Meanwhile, the free-to-play weekend has officially come to a close and the free servers have now been merged with existing ones. The team has also announced another round of server merges coming this Friday across all four regions and reopened the Public Test Realm to gather feedback on this month’s quality-of-life update.
