New World Devs Talk Up Transmog System In New Forged In Aeternum Video

For most New World players, picking the right type of gear to use boils right down to what’s the most powerful and useful at your given level, particularly when you’re taking on endgame content. Appearance and whether your gears match only comes secondary. A transmogrification system, however, allows you to have the best of both worlds and will soon be coming to the 17th century open world MMORPG.

Creative Director David Verfaille, Senior Product Manager Drew Higbee, and Lead Seasons Designer Patrick Smedley come together in their latest Forged in Aeternum video to talk about the long-awaited transmog system and how it works.

Basically, the transmog system will allow you to replace the appearance of your gear into any other existing gear in Aeternum. You’ll also be able to dye every other piece of gear except for weapons in any of the available colors.

It’s a rather short video compared to previous Forged in Aeternum episodes but it should give you an idea of what to expect when the system arrives alongside Season 2’s mid-season update sometime in the next few weeks. You can check out the full episode right down below.
