New World To Start Closed Beta Test In July, May Alpha Update Now Live
Looks like Amazon Game Studios is making steady progress with New World as the studio prepares to transition from alpha to closed beta. Game Director Scot Lane made the announcement in a recent dev blog where he also talked about the May alpha update.
According to Scot, the alpha test will run until July 6. During this time, the developers will be focusing on fixing bugs, balance, polish, and performance in preparation for the start of closed beta on July 20.
Meanwhile, the May alpha update is now live with two new expeditions: Shattered Obelisk and Depths. The update also comes with a title system, fast travel locations, fort capture adjustments, settlement housing tiers, gear score caps, and a rebalancing of the leveling curve in the game.
“We’ve adjusted our leveling curves and rest experience to speed up leveling for casual players and to introduce new ways of gaining XP,” said Amazon.
The full release notes can be found on the New World official site if you want to take a gander. You can also check out the dev update below for more information about the patch.
