New World Teaser Tweets Seem To Be Counting Down To Something

Back in May, Amazon Game Studios announced that they will be shutting down the New World 24/7 Alpha test servers to implement new features and changes that would otherwise be disruptive to a live game. Amazon, however, has been ominously quiet since the servers went offline in June fueling rumors that the game was headed for the graveyard.

Well, it looks like work on the game continues as planned as the New World Twitter page comes to life with a series of new posts. Over the past three days, Amazon has been releasing short teaser clips of a tree marked with V, IV, and III which, to me, seems to be a countdown of some sort. The “countdown” also happens to coincide with the upcoming The Game Awards on December 12^th.
