New World Season 4: Eternal Frost Launches In December With ‘Chilling’ New Content

New World players and their merry band of Silver Crows are in for a chilling new narrative and icy new challenges when Season 4: Eternal Frost arrives this winter. The only caveat is that the new story quests will only be available to those who own the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.

“A Knight of the Round Table has unearthed forbidden knowledge of the Ancients, seeking to subjugate humanity with the power of an eternal winter. Rally your team of Silver Crows, and convince a surly fire mage named Daichi to help track down and vanquish the Knight before he lays waste to Aeternum.”

Rise of the Angry Earth owners will also get access to a new level 65 Expedition set in the Great Cleave called The Glacial Tarn. “Explore a cavernous frozen complex hidden beyond the Empyrean Forge in pursuit of the Varangian Knight Sir Loth,” Amazon Game Studios teased. “Locate and harness the primordial magic of the Empyrean Flame to overcome enemies and obstacles imbued with Ice Magic, and destroy Sir Loth before his power consumes all of Aeternum.”

For everyone else, Amazon has a series of new season events planned, as well as a new season pass and a handful of new Artifacts and their associated quests on deck. “Find and equip eight new Artifacts to redefine your playstyle,” the studio said. “Stun and shock enemies with the Boltcaster Bow, boost your speed and reduce cooldowns with the Winged Shoes, freeze and finish your enemies with The Frozen Gauntlet and more.”

Players can also look forward to the addition of cross-world expeditions and the a new group finder feature that will allow players to skip the entire lobby process with just one click.

Season 4: Eternal Frost is set to begin on December 12th and will be making its way to the public test realm on November 9th.
