Players Continue To Descend On New World Following Rise Of The Angry Earth’s Launch

new world elysian wilds mounts

New World’s population continues to rise following the launch of its aptly-named Rise of the Angry Earth paid expansion earlier this week. The day after the expansion’s release, we noted that the open-world MMORPG’s peak player concurrency jumped to just over 50,000 players. With the weekend upon us, that number has now skyrocketed to nearly 70,000 concurrent players.

While the ballooning population is cause for celebration, the resulting hours-long queues are not. Amazon Game Studio had already added four new servers over the past week in an effort to curb the queues, and recently opened four more: Pollux and Octans for US East and Fornax and Canis for Europe.

Amazon is also actively working to fix several known issues, including several bugs that prevented players from progressing through the main story quest. The studio advises players who run into the issue to not contact customer support, assuring the community that a hotfix will be coming soon.

If you’ve yet to purchase Rise of the Angry Earth, it’s currently on sale at 60% off until October 11th, bringing the price down to just $15.99. Amazon has also slashed 34% off the price of the Elysian Edition, which includes a copy of the base game and the expansion, and is up for grabs for just $45.98.
