New World Devs Closely Monitoring Server Populations In Preparation For Character Transfers

It’s been a busy month for both New World players and the dev team thanks to the release of its Rise of the Angry Earth expansion. Tens of thousands of new and returning players have flocked to the open-world MMORPG over the past few weeks, significantly bolstering player numbers and resulting in multi-hour queues.
Amazon has already opened several new servers to try to accommodate everyone and reduce queue times. The studio is also closely monitoring the population and promises to enable character transfers to the busier realms once enough spaces open up.
The team also acknowledged the ongoing data issue with Influence Race content and has rolled out a band-aid solution until a permanent fix can be applied.
“We've discovered an issue with the new Influence Race system, where data isn't always cleared on the server at the end of a race,” Amazon reported. “We've implemented a mitigation measure as of tonight to reduce the recurrence of this issue until a permanent bug fix can be deployed in an upcoming patch.”
In the meantime, you can check out the latest Forged in Aeternum episode below for more information about character transfers, upcoming content, and more.
