New World Is Hosting A Free-To-Play Weekend On Steam Starting Tomorrow
If you’ve been dying to try out New World but aren’t sure you want to spend the cash, then you’re in luck because you’ll get to step foot in Aeternum for free this weekend. Amazon Game Studios will be running a free-to-play weekend event on Steam starting on Thursday, April 7th at 10:00am PDT through Monday, April 11th at the same time.
“During this limited-time event, players will be able to try out New World and the recent updates we’ve made for free. New players can also save 40% on the Standard and Deluxe editions of New World when purchased between April 7 at 10AM PT and April 18 at 10AM PT (5PM UTC). Players who join in for the Steam Free Weekend will have their progress saved and will be able to pick up where they left off when the weekend ends if they elect to buy New World.”
Steam Free Weekend participants, however, will only be given a limited list of servers to choose from to make sure that they won’t overcrowd already overpopulated ones. These servers will be merged following the end of the free-to-play weekend.
The Steam Free Weekend event follows hot on the heels of Amazon’s first relatively bug-free major update for the survival MMORPG. It was such a big thing that it deserved its own news piece. You can check that out here. You can also find more information about the upcoming Steam Free Weekend event on the New World official site.
