New World Leak Suggests Flails Will Be The Next Weapon Type Coming This Year

New World dataminers have apparently stumbled upon clues to the next weapon that will be added into the open world MMORPG. Amazon previously hinted at a new support weapon type coming later this year but have yet to share any information about it. Now, it looks like we’ve got something more to go on.

Attribute tooltips on the French and Italian versions of the game that were added with the Season 2 patch reportedly mention flails alongside already existing weapon types. They’re expected to primarily scale with strength, with focus serving as its secondary attribute. As a support weapon, flails will presumably work similarly to the Void Gauntlet, utilizing focus as a secondary stat for damage and strength as the primary scaler for healing.

The leak, however, doesn’t really come as a surprise since players have been pestering Amazon for a flail or mace with holy abilities for quite a while now. It’s also the first weapon that came to the community’s mind when Amazon first announced its plans to introduce a new focus support weapon.

Of course, all of this is merely conjecture without an official announcement from the devs, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear word.
