New World Disables Trading Due To Newly-Discovered Trading Post Exploit

Just when you thought that Amazon Game Studios had finally gotten rid of exploits in New World, a new one comes along that’s forced to the studio to temporarily disable trading again. The recently discovered Trading Post exploit reportedly allowed some players to receive more item refunds than intended when Trading Post when a Trading Post action failed.

The issue has now been fixed but trading via the Trading Post and between players has been temporarily disabled with no timeline as to when the developers will be bringing it back. Amazon, however, promises that it’s doing its best and is continuing to prioritize re-enabling the feature as soon as possible.

The 17th century open-world MMORPG’s latest patch also fixed an issue that caused the game client to freeze when fast-travelling with weapons that had accessories were equipped. The patch also addressed a separate fast-travelling bug that caused the game to crash when fast-travelling or respawning near a lot of players.

Amazon has also reverted the recent changes to character transfer cooldowns, temporarily bringing it back down to just 3 days instead of 30 days. The cooldown will return to its original 30-day setting on January and anyone with an active cooldown when the change goes live will have to wait out the full 30 days.

The cooldown for leaving a Company has also been suspended for the time being after it was retroactively applied during this week’s update. The original 72-hour cooldown will once again take effect on December 11th.

Details can be found in the full patch notes on the New World official site.
