Speculation about whether The Elder Scrolls Online will be getting DLC containing Morrowind's volcanic island, Vvardenfell, has been going on for quite some time—since 2012, according to The Elder Scrolls Wikia. But it wasn't until recently that the flames of speculation were stoked by datamining efforts that found a map of Vvardenfell in The Elder Scrolls Online's data files. You can see the map on the aforementioned Wikia.

Today, Zenimax Online Studios sent out a new tweet that has continued to stoke the flames of speculation. The tweet contains a short GIF showing what appears to be the cooling aftermath of a volcanic eruption and the hashtag "#ESO." Many are already thinking "could it really be anything other than Vvardenfell?"

Additionally, for those that don't know, it is the 15th anniversary of Morrowind's release this May, so many are thinking that the timing couldn't be more appropriate.

It remains to be seen whether this new teaser means what fans think it means. I suppose that we will just have to wait for more teasers to find out.
