Neverwinter's Shroud Of Souls Update Goes Live On May 2nd

The Cloaked Ascendancy may be defeated, but the saga of Neverwinter's River District is not over yet. A new threat has arisen and it's up to the game's players to stop it.

The story of the Shroud of Souls update is as follows.

In the wake of the Cloaked Ascendancy’s occupancy of the River District, a mysterious dragonborn necromancer emerges wielding a powerful artifact, the Shroud of Souls. Released from beneath the River District, she now controls an army of wraiths, and is set on summoning even more powerful spirits to lead her forces. Adventurers must set out to stop this evil plan and restore peace to the River District once more.

The Shroud of Souls update will also include "the long-awaited Loadouts feature." Players will be able to customize builds, including the gear that those builds use, and quickly swap between them during play. More information about Loadouts can be found in the Developer Vlog embedded below.

Several new Strongholds features will be added in the update, as well. A "dynamic Siege" of some sort will be introduced. Players will also be able to relax and chat in a new "customizable Guild Hall social space."

The update is set to go live on PC on May 2nd. A console release date has yet to be announced.
