Neverwinter's Next Expansion Previewed

In a developer blog that went out today, Cryptic Studios previewed Neverwinter's next expansion, which is as yet unnamed. The expansion will introduce a new adventure zone, the River District, that will feature "a new campaign with alternate ways towards completion."

The River District is described as follows.

Lord Neverember has made good his claim to reclaim and expand upon Neverwinter by opening up the old Rich Merchants neighborhoods in the River District, and he’s looking for adventurers like you to help him secure the port and land by establishing guard posts to keep the areas relatively safe for looting abandoned mansions and crypts at excavation sites. Trouble is, he’s not the only one with the idea.

The expansion will also introduce more hidden treasures to find, a new port in the River District that opens up "lots of opportunities for trading," a new skirmish known as "The Illusionist's Gambit," and the return of the Spellplague Caverns, complete with "new challenges, new boss fights and of course new epic loot."

More information about the expansion will be released in the weeks leading up to its release and it should be made available on the Preview Shard "soon."
