Neverwinter’s New Lootbox Features Reimagined Characters From The 80s D&D Cartoon
Some of our more “ancient” readers will probably be familiar with the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons cartoon series that revolved around six kids who were magically transported into the D&D universe after boarding a carnival ride. Well, Neverwinter has just added a new cash shop lootbox that features two characters from the show.
“After boarding a Dungeons and Dragons themed roller coaster, six friends were transported to the realm of Dungeons and Dragons, and given powerful magic items by an enigmatic Dungeon Master,” recounts developer Cryptic Studios. “The planned, but never produced, final episode of the show would have given the children the choice between returning home, or staying to face the evil that still existed in this magical realm. The Planar Panic lockbox gives you the opportunity to imagine: What if they’d chosen to stay?”
One of the prizes included in the lootbox is the Planar Choice Pack, which will allow you to choose between grown-up versions of Bobby the Barbarian or Uni the Unicorn as a companion and mount, respectively. The lootbox also offers the chance to obtain other in-game goodies like account-wide legendary mounts, mythic bags, upgrade tokens, and more.
Personally, I’d prefer the original version of the characters, but if you’ve got some cash to burn Bobby and Uni would definitely be a great addition to your in-game collection. Cryptic didn’t say how long the lootbox will be available in the cash shop, so get them while they’re hot.
